History of the Dream

I grew up in Houston, playing select baseball at the highest levels in Texas and across the country. Skiing was never given a thought until the age of thirteen when my family went on our first ski trip. The love for skiing and yard sales was born! After that I had the priveledge of skiing about once a year around the holidays when we would visit family in Pennsylvania. This annual tradition continued in Colorado once I graduated high school.

I had secured a division II scholarship to play baseball at the University of Dallas. At the last minute, I was given a full tuition academic scholarship to attend Creighton University. I continued to play amateur ball, but due to hamstring injuries I was never fast enough to play at the division I level. My career in amateur league sports took flight! After dominating the intramural wiffleball league in college (true story), I moved to South Florida for 4 years where I had the priveledge of playing competitive softball year round at least twice a week. I continued to develope those explosive hitting muscles and became a standout amoungst some beasts for men.

After years of annual ski trips to Colorado, I finally moved here for the skiing in the fall of 2008. Score! I have tripled my lifetime skiing experience in the last two seasons and I continue to play softball and baseball here. Recent accomplishments include:

1. Denver MSBL 25 and up American league offensive player of the year 2009.
2. Pitched a 9-inning complete game win in the 2009 playoffs.
3. Playing softball in the championship game last summer, the umpire told me after the game that I had hit the farthest ball he had ever seen- and he was pretty damn old.
4. This summer was devoted to having shoulder surgery (trust me, that's an accomplishment), not unrelated to pitching a complete game last year and definitely related to the last ski season. Catching an edge going backwards at about 40 mph is not fun; well, right before was really fun. I think I definitely got the skiing backwards part out of my system though.

Now it's time to get some awards in ski cross!
